Did you get the letter?
A letter was sent out over the weekend, and hitting mailboxes today, announced that Jack Cordova of Georgetown Pharmacy is retiring. He writes:
It has been an honor and a privilege to have served you in the professional capacity as your pharmacist and pharmacy owner of Georgetown Pharmacy since April 1st, 1962. You have put tremendous faith, trust, and loyalty in me and my family business for which I am truly grateful and thankful....
The letter also states that prescriptions can be filled until September 10th, and so, lots of time to say goodbyes--and congratulations on retirement. After the 10th, accounts will be transferred to Safeway over on 3820 Rainier Ave S.
Earlier, I had received a tip that Mark Rahner from the Seattle Times was doing a story, but upon further inquiry by me, Cordova said that he wanted to publicize this on his own. So out of respect, I waited...but now it's offical.

I hope this business doesnt stand empty, a new pharmacy would be nice.
yes, too bad there wasn't an opportunity for someone to buy the business...
If this place ends up being an antique shop, I'm gonna friggin' PUKE (on it)... repeatedly!
