Georgetown Super 8 Film Fest

It's back. Last year's event was packed, standing room only. And if you want to get a film in the event for 2009, the deadline this year is February 1st. GS8 has already had three runs, and if you stop by Georgetown Records, thre might be some DVD's of last year's fest still floating around, and possibly the year before. If anyone around here knows how to keep deadlines together, it's the festival organizer Laura Wright, and participants will have until the 15th of March to hand them in, and a schedule to keep thereafter to make it all happen.. Best to have all your ideas, scripting, and actors lined up beginning yesterday, even if your deal is only three minutes long.

One can stop by All City Coffee or the Carleton Grocery to enter, or try the online application over at the GS8 website. Scholarship rolls of film are available for need based folks, or for the youth. If you're just planning to sit it out this time and watech the end result, the date to mark out on the calendar is May 1st.
