Death at Glass Factory on EMW

Today's 911 log is showing several with fire response to West Marginal Way--home of Saint-Gobain Containers. The Times is reporting one death:

Police and fire are on the scene of an accident that has left a woman dead in South Seattle.

Around 2:15 p.m., fire crews responded to a business in the 5800 block of East Marginal Way.

Seattle police arrived shortly after and are investigating, said department spokesman Mark Jamieson.

KOMO is reporting that it was electrical related:

SOUTH SEATTLE - An employee was electrocuted while working with wiring at a bottle manufacturing plant in the Georgetown area of South Seattle, officials said.

Seattle firefighters were called to the scene at about 2:26 p.m. On arrival, they found a female electrician dead inside the plant.

Emergency crews are now working to retrieve her body.

The accident reportedly happened at Saint-Gobain Containers, 5801 East Marginal Way S., which manufactures glass bottles and containers, including wine bottles, for the food and beverage industry.

DPD indicates that some heavy electrical work is under permit for that address but no telling specifically if that work is related to the accident.
